ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Carola Pettinato, I am a Game & Technical Designer with AAA experience in the game industry, where I've worked at Electronic Arts on franchises such as Need for Speed Unbound and Battlefield 6
I was born and raised in Sicily, Italy, and after my studies in Modern Literature at the University of Messina, I decided to move to London, a place where the past and the future coexist in harmony. If there is one thing that this amazing city taught me, it is that you can become everything you want, and so I did.
In 2019, after intensively playing The Last of Us, I challenged myself with a new adventure: to become a Game Developer.
It was in 2020 that I finally decided to go back to university and graduated with First Class Honours in BSc Computer Games Design from Staffordshire University London.
I landed my first job in the industry in 2022 working as a Game Designer Intern for Criterion Games - Electronic Arts, and had the opportunity to be part of the team behind the latest Need For Speed Unbound.
I later pivoted to Technical Design, where I worked on the Battlefield franchise, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to implement gameplay systems and bring player-focused experiences to life through the release of Battlefield 6.
I want to prove that it is never too late to start again, to push your limit, to bring all your passion and unique experience into something so amazing as the game development process. I became a Women In Games Ambassador in 2022 and a Video Games Ambassador (VGA) with Ukie to honour this.
I strongly value both being mentored and mentoring others, and I am a certified mentor, providing mentoring through organisations such as London Game Festival, Limit Break.
Besides games, I spend my time going to gigs and listening to great music, reading books, I love cinema and taking pictures and, last but not least, travelling this world!
